Dr. Radha Krishna has been working as a medical professional for more than 30 years in both service oriented and as well as research organizations, both within and outside the country mostly, involved in public health related projects, with focus on infant and child development. Current research studies include “Nutritional challenges, abdominal adiposity and   type 2 diabetes in Indians”, “effect of Calcium rich food supplementation on bone density of lactating women & infant”, Effect of RUTF (Ready to use therapeutic food) on weight gain and  Body composition of children with Severe acute  malnutrition (SAM) and vitamin D status  in common infections in children. Research projects in last 5 years  include, zinc supplementation and its effect on growth and morbidity in full term infants, Body compositional changes during Nutritional rehabilitation,  Neonatal body composition in relation to cord blood glucose and insulin and their association with maternal and cord blood trace element status,  Role of nutrients in environmental toxicity with special reference to lead.
Earlier studies include, cross sectional study of early placental development in relation to maternal macro and micronutrient status, association of maternal nutritional status in early pregnancy with intrauterine growth of the fetus, effect of early Psycho social intervention (home-based) to Intra uterine growth retarded (IUGR) children at risk for developmental delays and a community based study on measles and blindness in preschool children.
